Here is another crazy and not hard idea: a fediverse "node" that is really just a caching twitter client. It doesn't federate, but lets people use stock fediverse clients to interact with Twitter. Generalize to other social media silos as well...

so, I have reread the protocol docs for ActivityPub, ActivityStreams, and AWS API gateway. I'm now sure that a fediverse node could be built out of API Gateway, AWS Cognito, S3, and just a smidge of Lambda. And it would hyperscale, bottlenecking only on AWS itself.

@evan @bmann @blaine @walkah No, you should instead sit down and code up a full implementation of ActivityPub in GoLang. As soon as possible. No Ruby.
