Yes I know it's awful. I'm not avoiding knowing it's awful. I'm trying to put my nose down and work on the problems. CW helps me do that without interference from the adrenal system.

@dredmorbius my pet peeve is with people saying we need to make {Linux, fedi,. ..} easier without acknowledging the ways in which positioning it as hard does its opponents work for them . (As opposed to those with real useful usability critique, of which much is needed.)
There is no tech problem.
People sign up for websites all the time.
People get friends to walk them through installing shit all the time. See also discord, telegram, even whatapp groups.
What there is...
Is a natural social consequence of people having created a social barrier.
By making it seem like there is a "wrong" button to click.
A "wrong" server to join.
A "hard" choice with too little information.
A potential for socially costly errors.
Instead of a playground... make accounts like trying on clothes, explore servers like visiting a local cafe. Play.
There are no lasting mistakes. No wrong buttons. No game over. Just play.
And quit making people feel like the buttons aren't safe to click.
@evan " believe in" for me meant something very different than, is it something you do... more like do the ancestors do something in return
@Azure Common misunderstanding. The direction of travel by means of which we got there is Dimension; the parallel universe is Dimension's Monster.
