so I have to deal with a windows vm with gpu passthrough... -

but yeah you basically just need something to mount the switches to, and for me 3d printing is the easiest way to crank out new designs and it's very cheap -

if you don't, you're looking at PCBs which can cost anywhere between 5 and 50 bucks + shipping depending on what you do -
