Or any creative hobby, really. When things feel bleak, don’t doomscroll; create. Achieving something small is the first step to knowing you can help achieve something big.

Two things I’ve noticed online in Europe:

1. Those annoying cookie prompts on websites are (usually) much less annoying, and way easier to find the “reject all” option.

2. I can watch the Instagram Reels Husband sends me without an account. In Australia I get maybe one a week before it locks me behind a login wall. Here, I get some nag screens, but can nope out of them to see the video.

Definitely don’t know queueing etiquette in Europe, as it turns out, because I totally got queue-jumped by nuns — like actual, full black habit nuns — at the Rome airport toilets.

@lookitmychicken@blorbo.social So the problem ended up being on my end (shakes fist at Windows), was fixed by a reboot, and now the game has devoured my entire weekend...

Manged to play about 4 hours of Foundation last night before finally having to give up over crashes making it unplayable.

Which is a shame, because it feels like it's going to be entirely my jam. So I'm not going to return it, but... man. I hope they fix whatever is going on with it soon, hey.

@lookitmychicken@blorbo.social Hah. They had some of the hardcovers for TGCF, too (vols. 1 & 2, from memory). I’ve never seen them before and they were very tempting... (Not just to me; some other girls came and grabbed them out of the case while I was looking at them, lol.)

Plan for the day:

1. Tram into town.

2. Visit one (1) bookstore.

3. Buy too many books and have to come home after an hour because these are heavy, man.

We’ll be down there because the in-laws do an annual AO trip, so they book a big house and there’s a very complicated spreadsheet working out everyone’s tennis allocation, lol. But I am the Tennis Abstainer, hence needing a bunch of other activities to keep me out of trouble for the week.

Opening up Procreate for the first time in a while and… I don’t think I ever posted this guy?

This was Leech, my Leech character from a (relatively) short-lived game of Blades in the Dark a friend ran back in 2018. Its sweat was an anaesthetic and it absolutely would give you a sleepy-time hug!

We played the game online and the Leech was quite, uh. Gruff? Which lead to a few incidents of OOC-vs-IC confusion, in retrospect. Lessons learnt, I guess…
