@pluralistic "Quiet quitting" is the best thing employees at these fucked up companies can do. Just don't do anything. Do the bare minimum to not get fired, make them pay you every month for showing up and being essentially dead weight.

@unix_discussions 1 is entirely beside the point and software managers have been improving in major ways over the past years. Take KDE's Discover for instance; one-click install and uninstall. Easier than MS Store, even. 2 is moot; Windows frequently has bugs which break functionality. 3 is absolute quatsch. 4 Syncthing and other options exist. 5 even the big tech companies help fund Linux development! 6 is valid. 7 is not.

What's the best #Android phone which either comes de-Googled or is easy to jailbreak to remove Google from, or, alternatively, what is the best #Linux phone on the market right now?

@jon Now you just need to fork away from Chromium so things like Manifest V3 and other Google stuff can get written out of the codebase.

@jwildeboer If you are a website owner, you can work to help redefine the standards by just not adding nonsense to your website. What's wrong with going back to "Web 1.x" content? At least it was readable. Just like how every site didn't need Macromedia Flash content back when, not every site nowadays requires a heap of ads, trackers, and AI-generated nonsense.
