Honestly baffling that
A) slapp is a valid strategy anywhere else than USA
And B) EU moved with right to repair for consumer electronics, but for an arguably more fundamental thing such as trains they couldn't give two bowel movements

That newag hasn't yet been dragged through hell over this is sadly expected.

Well, if meta's involvement isn't a strong enough reason to be suspicious, the foundation's mission statement literally mentions making the whole thing "financially viable"

You did lose me at "advertising" though. With how intrusive and downright disgusting internet advertising has become, I can hardly cheer on that. You can call me out on slippery slope, but unfortunately you're the one happily sailing under one banner with meta, and I'd sooner trust a rabid wolf with a small child than meta to be ethical about privacy and advertising.

That is to say, I can believe you have the best intentions, but then, you're not synonymous with the whole foundation, and I can fairly easily imagine it being steered places nobody here wants to go. Especially with the kind of folks that are onboard from the start

The foundation's "mission" only makes me think of injecting adverrising and trackers. Hard to be excited
