My brother in western NC is a ham radio operator. He and colleagues are the ONLY means of communication for thousands of people stranded by Helene. They can't call out of the region or even check on family and friends nearby. Cell service gone, internet and e-mail out, landlines gone, power water and sewer systems down, roadways washed out including interstate highways. Govt says "All highways are closed."

Please help, people!

After checking -- and voting -- in June I didn't think it necessary, but I checked again. My record had been flagged "Inactive" because the Clerk sent a verification form, to an old address, and the PO returned it to them.

They say I could have voted even with the "inactive" flag, but I wonder if the Make America Goon Again movement isn't going to contest some precincts based on trivia like that.

The swindlers are busy, folks. Stop 'em! Check your registration.
