Tip for tech co management (none of whom follow me or will ever see this):
You _are_ responsible for what the industry does even if you aren't doing it yourself. Your workers' fears are partially based on what everyone else in the industry does, and it is part of your basic job to reassure them and not expect them to trust you by default.
Trust is earned and maintained. You just maintain it in the face of industry fuckery. This is inherent to being a leader of people.
