🇫🇷 Aujourd'hui, j'ai scanné des photos d'août 2001 lorsque j'ai visité le musée des transports à Nürnberg (DE). Une première série avec :

1. L'avant aérodynamique des SVT (Schnell Verbrennungstriebwagen) type Hamburg qui assuraient dans les années 1930 des relations rapides entre Berlin et Hamburg d'où leur surnom "Fliegender Hambuger". Ce design aérodynamique a été repris par d'autres pays comme les Pays-Bas, la Belgique ou encore la France.

2. Le confort spartiate pour le conducteur de cette locomotive E 33 datant des années 1920... A comparer avec le confort des postes de conduites actuels...

3. Confort de conduite "socialiste" avec le poste de conduite d'une locomotive série E11 de la DR (Chemins de fer de la RDA entre 1949 et 1994).

4. Symbole de puissance et de rapidité, les rames TEE VT 11.5 de DB (chemins de fer fédéraux Ouest-Allemands entre 1949 et 1994) datant des années 1950. La décennie appelée outre Rhin "Wirtschaftswunder" (miracle économique) a été celle du lancement du réseau TransEuropExpress qui reliait les grandes villes européennes (de l'Ouest). Ces rames étaient engagées dans des relations entre l'Allemagne, le Benelux, la France, la Suisse et même l'Italie. A noter que les DSB (chemins de fer danois) avaient acquis des rames semblables pour le service intérieur et les fameux "Lyntog" dont j'ai parlé hier.

🇬🇧 Today I scanned photos from August 2001 when I visited the Transport Museum in Nürnberg (DE). A first set with :

1. The aerodynamic front of the Hamburg-type SVT DMUs (Schnell Verbrennungstriebwagen) which provided rapid connections between Berlin and Hamburg in the 1930s, hence their nickname "Fliegender Hambuger". This aerodynamic design has been taken over by other countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

2. Spartan comfort for the driver of this Class E 33 locomotive dating from the 1920s... Compare with the comfort of current driving stations...

3. "Socialist" driving comfort with the driver's cabin of a DR Class E11 locomotive (GDR Railways between 1949 and 1994).

4. A symbol of power and speed, DB's TEE VT 11.5 trainsets (West German federal railways between 1949 and 1994) dating from the 1950s. The decade called "Wirtschaftswunder" (economic wonder) in Western Germany. This decade saw the rise of the TransEuropExpress network which connected major European (Western) cities. These trains were engaged in relations between Germany, the Benelux, France, Switzerland and even Italy. Note that the DSB (Danish railways) had acquired similar trains for the domestic service and the famous "Lyntog" which I spoke about yesterday.

🇫🇷 Ce soir, nous poursuivons la visite des transports à København et sa région lors de ce séjour de janvier 2006. Aujourd'hui, le métro et le S-tog.

Le métro est entièrement automatisé et en 2006, il était composé de deux lignes. La station de Flintholm, illustrée ici, avait été mise en janvier 2004 soit deux ans après l'ouverture de la première ligne du métro. Corollairement à la construction de cette station du métro, une station du S-tog (RER danois) a également été construite en faisant un pôle d'échange entre le métro et deux lignes du S-tog.

Le S-tog est lui plus ancien et est composé de six lignes référencées de A à H (excepté D!) et d'une ligne "express" qui ne circule qu'aux heures de pointe. Les fréquences sont élevées.

En 2006, il existait encore trois générations de matériel roulant : les rames de seconde génération (photo 2), de troisième génération, une petite série de douze rames quadruple seulement (photo 3) et de quatrième génération, au design presque futuriste, toujours en service aujourd'hui (photo 4).

Dans un futur assez proche, un consortium formé de Siemens Mobility et Stadler fournira 226 rames de cinquième génération et procédera à la transformation du réseau pour rendre l'exploitation entièrement automatique à partir de 2032 sur la "Ringbane" et en 2040 sur l'ensemble du réseau S-tog. 🇬🇧 This evening, we continue our visit to København's public transport during this stay in January 2006. Today, the metro and the S-tog.

The metro is fully automated and in 2006 it consisted of two lines. The Flintholm station, illustrated here, opened in January 2004, two years after the opening of the first line. As a corollary to the construction of this metro station, a S-tog station (Suburban trains) was also built and offers an exchange hub between the metro and two S-tog lines.

The S-tog is older and is made up of six lines referenced from A to H (except D!) and an "express" line (Bx) which is only operating during rush hours. The frequencies are high.

In 2006, there were still three generations of rolling stock: the second generation (photo 2), third generation, a small series of twelve 4-car EMUs only (photo 3) and fourth generation of EMUs, with an almost futuristic design, still in service today (photo 4).

In a near future, a consortium formed by Siemens Mobility and Stadler will supply 226 fifth generation EMUs and will be undertaken adaptation of the network to make fully automatic operations possible from 2032 on the "Ringbane" and from 2040 on the entire of the S-tog network. 🇫🇷 Cela faisait un moment que je n'avais pas scanné d'anciennes photos argentiques...

Retour en 2001, où en juin de cette année-là, la première liaison du futur réseau de l'Euregiobahn entrait en service. Réseau de desserte ferroviaire régionale pour la région d'Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) avec une extension jusqu'à Heerlen aux Pays-Bas. Vingt-cinq ans plus tard, le réseau s'est bien développé mais tous les projets n'ont pas été concrétisés.

En octobre 2001, je visitais donc la ligne reliant Stolberg (Rheinland)-Hbf à Stolberg-Altstadt rouverte à la circulation après de longues années de fermeture. La prolongation jusqu'à la frontière belge et la ville belge d'Eupen, souvent évoquée, n'a à ce jour pas été réalisée...

Les rames circulant sur les lignes de l'Euregiobahn étaient équipées pour rouler en régime tramway car à l'origine, il était prévu une desserte du centre-ville en voirie.

Back to 2001, when in June of that year, the Euregiobahn, a regioanl rail service for the Aachen Region started between Heerlen (NL) and Stolberg-Altstadt. Twenty-five years later, the network has been developed well but not all the projects were achieved.

In October 2001, I visited the reopened railway between Stolberg (Rheinland)-Hbf and Stolberg-Altstadt. The extension to the Belgian border and the Belgian town of Eupen, often mentioned, has not yet been carried out...

The DMUs operating on the Euregiobahn were equipped to run in tramway mode as originally, street runnings to the city center were planned.
