ABC NEWS in 2022—"Climate haven: More people moving to Asheville to escape more severe climate change impact"
No place is safe from climate change. We must all work together to prevent climate change from getting worse and to protect the people and places we love.
A big reason we are in this catastrophe is because governments are more focused on criminalizing the people who are protesting the climate crisis, instead of the fossil fuel executives who are responsible for it.
What a week. Unrelenting bombing of civilians. A destructive hurricane intensified by climate change. Continued denial of an ongoing pandemic, and steps towards a new one. Widespread government corruption.
Thank you to everyone pushing back despite the bleakness. Keep lighting a candle in the darkness.
But 4 free tests per household is nowhere near enough.
People need access to free COVID tests all year round, they need access to free PCR tests too, and access to free and safe in-person testing (i.e. with mask requirements).

Great news: The FDA has approved a nasal spray influenza vaccine that can be self administered. It is the first influenza vaccine does not need to be administered by a health care provider.
Having more accessible options like this is much needed to improve vaccination rates.
From the 95% who would take more precautions if they knew virus levels in wastewater were high, 51% said they would wear a mask in indoor spaces, according to the CDC survey.
52% would get vaccinated, 61% would avoid large gatherings, and 76% would wash their hands more.
New CDC study: 75% of US adults support wastewater monitoring, and 95% say they would take steps to protect themselves if wastewater data showed disease spread was high.
We need to fund wastewater monitoring and include the data in daily weather reports, so everyone is aware.
Last year the NYPD spent $150 Million to catch people who weren't able to afford to pay the subway fare. They collectively owed just $104,000 in fares.
Instead of funding cops to shoot people, why not use the money to make public transport free for people who can't afford it?
