In addition to all the COVID-related impacts, a second Trump term inflict more damage on all areas of public health, including healthcare, reproductive freedom, and climate change. Many more people will die and get sicker under another Trump presidency.
Allowing far-right governments to hold power harms people and greatly weakens social movements. Voting alone is insufficient to win justice, but ignoring its importance makes it much harder to achieve. To win, we need to use all the tools available, including strategic voting.
Why has Jill Stein's terrible record on health and science not been highlighted more?
She: - has cast doubt about vaccine safety and pandered to anti-vaxxers - has falsely claimed wifi damages kids brains - has spread misinformation about food safety - invests in and profits from the oil and gas industry - has a VP pick who supports an abortion ban and is transphobic
At a rally Trump says climate change isn't real because “it's very cool out here today.”
Do not fall prey to misinformation. Both sides are not the same. The election will have a huge influence on our collective ability to fight climate change for decades.
An Idaho health department isn’t allowed to give COVID vaccines anymore after a board vote. Their reason was they couldn't sign off on the vaccines being safe. This is a horrible example of politics interfering in public health and is going to kill people.
In a CNN interview, the co-chair of the Trump's transition team said that they had a meeting with RFK Jr where they discussed pulling vaccines off the market.

They are staging a fascist rally in Madison Square Garden. This is not a drill. Do not sit out this election. The result of the election is absolutely consequential and will affect so many lives for generations.
"I dare anybody to give me a dirty look. I would just say, 'Hey, you know what? I’m Stevie Nicks. And if I get sick, my entire thing goes down. Forty families are out of work. So that’s why I have a mask on, asshole.'"
Universal masking and social distancing at the start of the pandemic were so effective that they eliminated a strain of flu, and now annual flu vaccines have been redesigned because that strain no longer needs to be included in the shot. Amazing.
"Children were 50 percent more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes at the six-month mark if they had endured a coronavirus infection compared with children who had another respiratory infection, according to findings published in JAMA Network Open." https://wapo.st/4dKP95N
Starting this semester, the University of California San Diego will require all students to complete a climate change course and demonstrate the ability to understand and address climate change.
We should require any political leader taking office to do the same.
Marginalized people, poor people, disabled people etc. are always the first to warn society about an impending crisis. And they are almost always ignored. Yet, when everything collapses, they are the first to be abandoned. This is an unacceptable moral injustice.
