I wish there were real-world places for #podcast listeners that felt like a record store.

A place you could go and listen to podcasts, hang out with other podcast enthusiasts, and browse through podcasts the same way you browse through records.

(I think some libraries have something close to this, but I like record store vibes better)

Being able to reach out to someone you’ve met in the public square, privately, feels like it’s missing here.

A DM is it’s own kind of thing that should be elevated in the UI/UX.

Having a separate area for DMs, ensuring they’re not publicly exposed, and making them encrypted would all improve the experience.

When Twitter was really good, it was a place that facilitated connections.

Often, the key moments in life occur because of “who you know” and “who knows you.”

This still happens for me on Twitter, but not nearly as much.

Mastodon has replaced some of this, but DMs are crucial for relationship building (and that’s missing here).

I know quite a few folks who tried #Mastodon but didn't like the UX of the default web/mobile apps.
