JVCI, and especially Dr Adam Finn need to be censured and maybe disbarred. "Most under 65s will end up boosting immunity not by vax but by multiple infections". When enough vax is already paid for and in stock for the 50-65s. Just not delivered.
Seeing increasing numbers of articles about the effects of lockdowns and home schooling on attendance and behaviour in schools. But nothing about the effects of Covid infections on pupils, staff & parents around schooling. Am I just missing something here?
I wonder about the state of mind now of those who leapt in after the 7 Oct Hamas atrocity with unconditional support for Netanyahu and the Israeli Government. After the last month, do they still think the Israeli Government deserve that unconditional support? Is there no room for criticism in their minds?
Turn a natural monopoly into an artificial market. Quick win incentives to first investors. Fail to regulate or control the artificial market. Instead of investing in infrastructure, the private companies sell out to foreign investors, who borrow debt to give to execs and shareholders. Then want the customers to pay for the infrastructure upgrades. Gov props up failure. Worse, expensive service for more gov cost.
Sorry, not UK. England and Wales. Although Scotland and N Ireland are not much better.
Now we're in denial. and have deliberately forgotten all the lessons from the previous 4 years of Covid and the years of planning before that. Now we've given up on the most basic Public Health as PHE has been replaced by UKHSA and that's been captured by the minimisers.
Will we ever learn from our mistakes, learn from 4 years of Covid, and actually pro-actively fix this?
Covid is a highly infectious, airborne pathogen that spreads via the respiratory system and causes an all body disease, often with lasting damage. It can infect and damage all ages.
Vax. Mainly reduces severity. A good thing for everyone of all ages.
Air. It's airborne. Air hygiene is important.
Space. Most dangerous are indoor crowds. Avoid.
Mask. Good (FFP2/3) masks help reduce spread
Test. If you can't measure, you can't manage.
Isolate. When ill. No matter what the infectious illness.
Touch. Washing hands is good basic hygiene. But is only of limited help for airborne diseases.
Infection control is *really* important in healthcare and care homes. We should be testing, and isolating when +ve, all patients, residents and staff. Especially when moving between environments.
Air Hygiene should be built into corporate health & safety rules and building codes.
Isolation when ill and especially +ve Covid needs support from the state. With statutory sick pay.
- Covid is not over - Covid is airborne - Air hygiene mitigations work to stop the spread of Covid: Masks, ventilation, filters - You are most at risk indoors, in crowded areas, with poor ventilation. Avoiding these and simple social distancing works to avoid the disease - Voluntary isolation when sick stops the spread of disease - Washing hands is good, but is (fairly) useless to stop Covid - Children get Covid and give it to others
