@fastfinge awesome! State machines power everything from communications protocols to video game systems and NPCs.
If you’re getting into this type of theory, definitely learn about truth tables. They’ll magically clean up your state transitions.

@PepperTheVixen the fact that it took them months to make the operating systems readable again after releasing Liquid Glass says a lot about their software strategy and priorities.
Then again, the fella responsible for that is gone. They turned AirPods into hearing aids, apparently, and continue to surface accessibility features like node recognition, so I get the feeling the main accessibility strategy continues to be to make more things accessible to more people, going after the tails of the curves, but not exactly the outliers.

@jasonmolenda @fastfinge here the distinction, for me, isn’t so much the A sound, but the prosody. English naturally stresses the second to last syllable, as in “mommy,” but Japanese tends towards short syllables, right? So you’d have to pronounce “mommy” in English in almost a staccato to make it sound the same.
Of course then we’re getting into different accents, so that’s a whole other can of beans.

@skinnylatte looks like it was great shot. Even if it isn’t, it’s your shot of a whale breaching and that’s incredibly valuable. Your unique experience which you get to share. I hope it was an awesome time.

Remember folks, when a neurotypical person you’re working with asks “what time do you usually have lunch?” they mean they’re hungry and would like to stop for lunch very soon.
Or they have an errand to run.
What they don’t want to hear is “in a case like this I work through my typical lunch break and eat when I’m done. I think we’ll figure this out in 5 hours or less.”
And when they then say “oh, OK,” they don’t mean they’re OK with that, they mean you sound like you won’t accept their weakness and they don’t want to risk complaining.

@jk meanwhile, screen reader users get “Safari is not responding” for 10 minutes and then hundreds of divs out of order.
Or just the divs if they’re using a sensible screen reader.

@BrailleKnights even if you value the convenience of library management and one-stop shopping, itch.io tells you exactly what files will come with your purchase and many authors are already providing plaintext files.
Better yet, find them on itch and then buy from them directly.
