    statute where I am if someone drops off a computer for repair and goes no contact for 45 days it’s abandoned property. but no one wants to be that guy that sells someone’s shit on day 46 so you generally store it for 3-6 months.

    when has that not been a thing? it forces them to sign for the document and you get mailed back proof that they received it and signed for it.

    when I worked for a storage unit place 20 years ago it was standard practice when letting them know we were selling off their shit after 6 months no payment.
