    @icedquinn France has a right wing goverment and president right now.
    The dissolution was a move to grab more seats for the right wing, which resulted in a more right wing goverment than before.
    The Lepen affair started in 2014. It just took long to reach its conclusion because it's a high profile case and all recourse and delays were taken.
    You sound like you have absorbed nothing of french politics except second hand fascist whining.

    @icedquinn EU parliament MPs can have assistants, there's pay for said assistants. It's given out by EU bodies (which is funded by EU taxes so indirectly citizen taxes in France)
    FN put their members as EUP assistants because the party had no money because it's a hollow shell paid for mostly by the privated fortune of Lepen and co
    said EUP assistants didn't work, simple as

    suit was pretty fucking ironclad too, it's not the only party that got sued with the exact same thing but the FN was really really fucking sloppy

    the way they are written is as a perfect discharge for any remorse or consideration to the campaign of demon eradication that frieren participated in and continues
    It's the story of a veteran dealing with survivorship, grief and memory but dehumanizing the other side of the war

    @SuperDicq demons being 100% absolutely super duper irredeemable is awful imo
    normally this is a sign of bad/lazy writing so you can have an agent in the story that's just a designated bad guy, it reeks of being a history written by victors type story
    but the story keeps pretending to be aware that it's bad jingoistic writing and that maybe frieren who also has cold alien logic may be relating to them a little bit and then taking it back (fucking eldorado arc)
    doesn't help that the manga tries to have worldbuilding but demons' existence and reason for being mindless killers is not justified, they're just a natural calamity (or something arbitrary about gods, I forgot but it was not good)
    it doesn't matter in a mindless power fantasy isekai but frieren is all high on its own farts of reflecting on grief and memory
    I can't help but have a reading of it where it feels like I'm reading some kind of propaganda epic written by elves.
