@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes Yeah, this is just like "oh hitler just wants to sit on a throne and get rich while doing a bit of union busting.. the jew stuff is just a vote-winning smokescreen"
Anyone who has seen a David Lynch movie knows about what happens when you start to live in a dream world. A fantasy world of unlimited power. The dream eventually becomes persecutory. And you end up in a nightmare world.
The purge awaits.
@AnarchoNinaWrites you are witnessing the adults in the room demonstrate their knack for the detail oriented work of politics, forming coalitions and creating a broad based movement.
Haha, no, just kidding, they're here to do the opposite and prevent that from ever happening.
I would have still voted for the dems on the tactical grounds that by election day, it's too late to wish for other choices. And dems don't care about losing. Look how comfortably they've slid into opposition LARPing
Finally, the uprising has begun.

And, mandatory coda for the hard of understanding, or to prove I'm not a chinese bot or whatever mad conspiracy theory you want.
Yeah, the conquest is irrelevant now, #Taiwan should be an independent state, same as the USA, or Israel. Former conquest _must_ be rendered irrelevant otherwise we can never rid the world of the scourge of war.
Even if it means accepting territorial losses we don't like (or #china doesn't like). We (they) need to just suck it up.
In return for this, states _must_ give up some of their sovereignty and implement a system of universal human rights within their borders to ensure justice for populations in conquered and occupied territories like northern ireland, hawaii, israel, others..
That, to my mind, is the fundamental bargain of international law and a rules based order.
If there is no bargain, you just get whatever you want, and everyone else can fuck themselves. That's not likely to be a fair, rules based, order.
An easy rules-based solution for #Taiwan would be a treaty between #US and #China
US nominates any existing model it would like to see for taiwan. Consider these 3 models
1. Cuba model
2. Hawaii model
3. Puerto Rico model
China agrees to implement any of the chosen models for taiwan in a stepwise manner with the US.
If the US wants to change the model before starting, it can eg. if it wants to grant independence first
More than fair, US can chose all parameters and get unlimited head start
I think the above proposal makes it clear what "rules based" really means.
The rules bind you, but don't protect you. The same rules protect us, but don't bind us.
To the west of the line, in #taiwan, territory cannot be acquired by #china (14th century) conquest (or communist revolution) but can be acquired by KMT conquest including massacre of tens of thousands of natives. No problemo!
Certainly no need to revert anything to an antebellum status quo like to the east of the line. Time to move forward and just call an election.
If we apply the same rules in eastern #ukraine? The conquest is old news, what matters is democracy for Donbas, right?
To the east of the line, territory can be acquired by conquest, and all conquered "chinese" terrtory is returned to #japan
Sure, #china conquered it from natives in the 14th century or whatever, but no American can begrudge them that and still believe in the legitimacy of USA, amirite.
#japan did great work in suppressing native culture and language and transferring their own population in there so to the victor the spoils i guess!
And Okinawa is a great spot for the US navy, so that's nice
An excellent demonstration of the "rules based international order"
Japan conquers chinese tribunate Ryūkyū Kingdom, then when Japan is defeated, the US draws an imaginary line between #yonaguni and #taiwan ...
https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/may/17/yonaguni-island-japan-taiwan-china-relations
And for journalists, the rules of the game include an additional rule.
"If you state the rules out loud, you lose the game."
The harder the west throws tantrums about #Taiwan the more it underscores what the "rules based international order" means for onlookers.
1. #USA makes the rules
2. Even if we draw imaginary lines where one rule exists on one side, and the opposite rule exists on the other
3. If you don't like the rules, go fuck yourself
4. If you challenge the rules, we'll pick up a hammer and smash you to pieces with it
5. Does anybody else have a problem with the rules
6. I didn't think so
