right, updated ports, ignored system support warnings, rebuilt pkg, pkg works now.

installed git, needed compile libidn2 myself from ports, now we have git.

holy shit, so FreeBSD 13 is still usable if you frankenstein it with newer ports.

@spycrab HF provides an opt-out method for getting your projects out of their dataset. No guarantees though to be honest. I'd also consider writing to whoever could help get your stuff out of that dataset, whether it be governmental data control orgs or something else.

I moved to Codeberg in 2025 as well and removed all of my GH repos, Codeberg recently banned cryptocurrency projects and vibecoded projects too.

There's also git.gay and some others out there.
