I've given a read to Ben Dunn's new Blue Kendra comic. As per usual, Dun's art is.. a mixed bag, but overall, the comic was a fun ride.
It's basically Slayers with a dash of Conan. If that sounds good to you, look for it on Antarctic Press sooner or later.

These old pulp stories from nearly a century ago have a lot of anachronisms (breathable atmospheres on mars, ect) but they otherwise hold up pretty well. I just file them under 'science fantasy' and call it a day for immersion's sake.
Cirsova's omnibus of Leigh Brackett's work has some nice illustrations too.
