Wonderful trans women of the Fediverse! If you have a minute, would you mind recording a short video of support for Freya, a wonderful, kind, creative, talented thirteen year old trans girl being targeted by bullies and extremists?

This “culture war” bs hurts REAL PEOPLE. If anyone questions why “talking about trans participation in girls sports” is harmful, you can tell them this.

Right now in my town there is a TERRIFIED 7th grader and her parents because some mom decided to make it a culture war thing that this incredibly kind girl exists and needs to change for gym. This mom roused her kids and their friends into a “protest,” which has now involved certain state and national conservative and white supremacist groups and now grown men holding guns are making videos telling men to come to our town to “protect girls.” So now, in addition to being incensed on behalf of this very kind child, who is my daughter’s friend, I am terrified for my own child, a cis girl these people are claiming to want to protect, because it’s never safe for men with guns to want to go to a middle school, but also because she happens to have a very short haircut. THIS is why “just talking” is never just talking when it’s about someone’s right to exist. THIS is why gun sense laws are so important. Because I was afraid to send my child to school today.
