"Postcards" is such a great description for these, because they feel like cheerful missives expressing the feel of visiting an inviting destination.

Climate Town & Not Just Bikes did a colab??

I usually don't hype videos until I've watched them, but eff it, we ball: I already know it's gonna be great.

This looks amazing.

I'm trying to introduce a kid to #audiobooks , but I don't listen to them myself. So I'm only learning how to get them, and wow is this experience frustrating.

It's been a while since I tried to put mp3s on a player. Everything seems to be streamed now? Or locked to an app? How the hell do I get my hands on a damn mp3 in 2026??

A great little write-up about #mastodon from a #fediverse skeptic.

Holy smokes! Is that... Is that GOOD NEWS?!

TIL that in Canada, graduating engineers receive an iron pinkie ring, bestowed by the Seven Wardens in a ritual known as "The Calling of an Engineer" to dedicate themselves to ethically using their powers as engineers for good.

This is not a joke: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritual_of_the_Calling_of_an_Engineer

I have a new quest.

Saw this floating around reddit and Discord:

Hey Mastodon, we need some expertise on #soil #remediation for a story. Have you ever done any hand-on #fieldwork inoculating dirt with a new #microbiome? Do you know anyone who has?

Hey everyone:

Enjoy a nice meme. (You deserve it!)

Sorry for more podcast talk, there's more I gotta note: on Weekly Show, J Stewart interviews dissident journalist Maria Ressa. Notables:

1) Stewart recognizing #fascism
2) Jon discovers #enshittification
3) They talk about @matrix

We're seeing sprouts of a revolution breaking into the mainstream! Long road ahead, tho.

@matrix

The ep:

Again, it's a very promising sign when mainstream figures begin to publicly process what it means to be in a coup and what it looks like to not just "resist" but build robust, durable institutions to replace the very foundations on which authoritarianism relies.

If one half of #worldbuilding a #solarpunk #space #ttrpg is accommodating popular existing #scifi tropes, the other is fostering stories that heretofore have been absent for lack of the setting.

What are some examples of space stories and themes that are specific and exclusive to solarpunk?

@Lazarou can you provide details? Where did you hear about this?

@mastodonmigration @Lazarou

I think there might be some confusion here.

I'm looking at their site (https://freeourfeeds.com/) and it doesn't have Meta. It doesn't even have a page for "Partners".

It also starts the page with the statement, "With Zuckerberg going full Musk last week, we can no longer let billionaires control our digital public square."

@Lazarou @mastodonmigration I see.

I wasn't familiar with them, but this post about the establishment of the Social Web Foundation is illuminating.

It's a nonprofit which promotes the use of ActivityPub. Meta is a partner because Threads uses it.

I don't believe Meta is affiliated with FreeOurFeeds.

We've got exciting news for folks who like #solarpunk in #space: we've started work on our space expansion!
