    Story time! Admins, tell me about how you "seeded" your instance. In the beginning, who were your first users, and how did you onboard them? Are they people you knew IRL? How did your instances grow in popularity so much? Did you advertise? Or was it just a close group of friends and grew by word-of-mouth?

    @Rocc I just fell out of the habit of TV, wasn't really my intention. But I used to watch plenty of shows like Breaking Bad and BattleStar Galactica.

    Now my only media entertainment is browsing Fedi, listening to podcasts and watching one video podcast called Who Are These Podcasts? which is a show that critiques and roasts shitty podcasts, as well as documenting a few really good internet lolcows

    I used "user@domain.com" and from the new account side on pleroma, where I made the alias to the old account, I see this.

    Not sure if that is proof that it worked.

    @hj I want to migrate a mastodon account to a pleroma server. I have migrated mastodon->mastodon before and it looks like the steps are the same for pleroma

    1. Create a new account on new server
    2. Go to new account's security settings and create an alias to the old account
    3. From the old account on the old server, go to account settings and "Move to a different account" and enter the new account

    My question is on step 2, what is the format for the alias? For mastodon the instructions say "user@domain.com"

    So not "@user@domain.com" ?

    And how do I know the alias "went through" successfully?
