America is that country that always finds money, somewhere, somehow for other nations, but still refuses to give its own citizens healthcare or universal basic income, and threatens social security and retirement.
The creator of alt-text.org is looking for someone to take over the projects. Please reach out to her if you'd like to help and/or have an interest in accessible software.
Microsoft has pushed out an update that breaks VPN access in Windows 10 and 11. This after the fact that we all learned Windows 11 will have ads, plus Microsoft may try to shame users with a watermark for those who do not accept their recommended settings or use their latest recommend hardware.
I work, take calls, bank, stream movies, stream music, edit documents, photos, videos, print, game, shop, and I do so ad free, watermark free, activation free, while safely and securely using an optional VPN, and I do this all on Linux (Ultramarine Linux, KDE spin).
All these countries have universal healthcare. They may not all be perfect and the quality may vary, but they still have some form of universal healthcare. Meanwhile, we're (America) still debating whether a woman can make her own choices.
Did you know if you switch from Mastodon to Sharkey (or Sharkey to Sharkey), you can keep:
* All your posts * All your photos * All your videos * All your media (audio) * All your followers * All you follow * All your lists (favorites, mutes, blocks)
I wrote up a simple, easy to follow guide with photos to help you.
I am nearly ready to delete my Google Account. The 1 thing taking forever is changing my e-mail address on all my many accounts.
Google's new Terms of Service, you agree Google AI may access all your content (email, photos, etc.). While they do not claim ownership of your content, you agree they can use it.
2 problems with that 3rd party Mastodon tool: 1) It does not save your files and keep the timeline. 2) It requires the command line between instances, so regular users cannot do this themselves.
Moving from Mastodon to Sharkey can save all your photos, videos, media, and other files, along with keeping your timeline. Anyone can do it using the web interface on any instance without owning your own instance (server).
The problem with Mastodon is it is not truly the vision of the Fediverse.
Sure, you can move between different Mastodon instances, but your posts, along with all your photos and video, are locked in at whatever Mastodon instance (server) you were a part of. Mastodon makes it possible to archive your whole account, but they never intended for you to use that archive to move to another Fedi server.
Sharkey / Misskey, allow you to take that achieve and truly move anywhere you wish. My account, for example, is a collection of my Mastodon dot social, Mstdn dot social, and Sarkurjima dot Moe.
Did you know, you can move all your post, photos, videos, who follows you, who you follow, your favorites, plus your mute and block list with you from Mastodon to Sharkey? Yes, everything.
You cannot manage your account, including cancel your membership, or delete your account without the app. The website will log you in, but then tell you that you must use the app.
I decided to cancel my membership and delete my account, because the app also will not work without Google Play Services either. The app will open, show you a notice that you need it, then close.
But putting that aside, you should at least have access to your account without your phone by visiting their website. I had to use someone else's phone just to log in, cancel, and then delete my account.
Describe myself? Why? Who I believe I am is irrelevant to who you're going to believe me to be.Language:While I do natively write in English, I also use a combination of DeepL and Naver SmartBoard to translate my text to better communicate. If you notice an error, please let me know, and I'll forward it to the right people.
