@BeAware I tend to frequent servers that are part of the #FediPact so that probably wouldn't matter haha, but thanks so much - I really appreciate your kind words and support!
Also been expressing gratitude to @gnu2 for the kind gift, in several recent episodes - so making sure to mention that here for those who don't listen to podcasts!
As you'll now know from the last (and last?) episode of the podcast, The Left Fist is now on hiatus indefinitely, for the reasons explained in the episode. Don't forget to check it out in full, and to take advantage of any offers cited, follow my friends, and catch me (Jay Baker) by any of the methods mentioned.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, but especially those precious few who carried out paid subscriptions - without you, all this wouldn't have made it as long as it has, and you enabled me to justify the time in my increasingly busy schedule, and helped me cover costs of keeping the show on the road.
Tony Khan: “I frankly think it’s an easier environment backstage at Collision than it was a year ago to do things. I think it’s a lot easier flow between the two shows than it was a year ago. I think the locker room is in a much better place than it was a year ago. As evidenced by when we came up here versus what happened here a year ago. I think it’s a much easier job I have because I had to deal with the people on Collision last year and it’s a much easier meeting process to put the TV together than it was a year ago at this time.” No shit. The Elite ordered a roster split because they refused to work with CM Punk. Now they rule the roost again. And all is well at AEW. Just ask Ricky Starks, or Danhausen. https://www.cagesideseats.com/aew/2024/8/26/24228695/tony-khan-says-aew-locker-room-much-better-place-than-a-year-ago-collision-cm-punk-elite
Also pretty cool is the fact that I contacted Ms Mjoseth to praise her writing - and enquire about merchandise, to which she replied "I'm sadly swag-free but feel free to print out the attached photo." It was this: a snap of three posing "lady wrestlers," Mad Maxine herself in all her glory on the right, what appears to be Luna Vachon in the middle, and who's that on the left? #WomensWrestling#wrestling#ProWrestling#MadMaxine#LunaVachon#WWF#WWE
I highly recommend The Chronicles of Mad Maxine by Jeannine Mjoseth - based on her real life experiences being trained by (and, like many, exploited by) The Fabulous Moolah while seemingly headed for 1980s WWF stardom (later pulled; replaced in the Rock & Wrestling cartoon by Moolah herself), the book cites her experiences taking work going undercover at a KKK rally to report for a local Black newspaper.
