Unpopular Opinion: an oft-understated reason the Amiga ultimately failed was due to the unprofessional and laughable name 'Amiga'.

Yes, that name brings tears of joy to us *now* due to nostalgia and familiarity... but really, "Amiga"?

Even Jay Miner raised it as a concern at Hi-Toro before the rename.

(It's also notable that Video Toaster labels always got plastered directly over the Amiga name on the machine case.)

Comes with a Parceiro II which adds an SD card hard drive, 8MB RAM and RTC. Oh, and Kickstart boot so you don't need the disk (though that is with the machine too). NTSC.

Considering selling it as although it's fabulous, I simply don't use it 😞

(Collection in Toronto most likely. Monitor not included but could be for a small additional cost if collected on site)

Am thinking around CAD$1k due to extras, recap, and general condition.

Anyone need a replacement chassis for a #Macintosh Classic?

It will be going on eBay at some point, but in case someone's project here needs one. Probably at CAD $50, plus shipping - I want it to go to someone who will really appreciate it, as with all similar parts.

Note: this is from a totally dead and unrepairable machine, so no usable Macs were harmed in the making of this toot!

Now, I wasn't going to show this until I'd at least attempted to make a video for it.

It's a newly arrived broken #Macintosh Plus from eBay, some of you might have even seen it on there - not very expensive but not working. I couldn't just leave it sitting there in distress so snapped it up.

However, now it's arrived, it appears this one might be a little bit special...

As soon as I turned it on, I could hear this.

This looks like part of a very professional mod. I removed the power cable, but saw the fan cable seemed to be trailing off elsewhere...

Following it, it leads to this unexpected extra board. Anyone know what it is? (I don't!)

It looks like this will also prevent the logic board from just sliding out, so I'll have to disassemble the entire machine to get the chassis out first.

Whatever it is, I think the video I was pondering making will now get made just to explore this!

I'll have to look at this later on as work resumes shortly... but this was totally unexpected!

@arroz @mac84tv This (video dual-screen) was my first thought, but I can't see how an external monitor would attach. I can't be sure yet though...

Be incredible if it was an accelerator though!
