A petition to ban "conversion therapy" across the 27 EU states 🇪🇺 risks not achieving the threshold that would lead to it being considered by the EU Commission.

The target is 400,000 more signatures by Saturday. It's very, very hard, but not impossible.

@WiseWoman @grheavyroller @pluralistic my workaround is filtering "Long thread" followed by "/", which is what Doctorow's uses for thread posts from 2 to last. This way I don't accidentally hide posts that use "long thread" in a sentence e.g. "this may be a very long thread..."

Leggo di persone che stanno facendo il vaccino anti-covid. Grazie alla regionalizzazione del (fu) SSN, qui in Sardegna la campagna 2024-25 non è ancora partita. Nessuna info sui siti ufficiali. La dottoressa di medicina generale, che è una in gamba, ogni volta che chiedo non ha risposte se non "quando arrivano sarete avvisatə". @lasiepedimore ma infatti, come se non fosse una cosa lampante, descrittiva, al livello di "se giri il rubinetto di là normalmente esce acqua calda". Siamo, purtroppo, una società profondamente razzista, con poche eccezioni, e basta grattare appena la superficie per accorgersene (spesso nemmeno serve grattare).

A mio avviso, la giustificazione migliore per le forze dell'ordine non dovrebbe essere "non è vero che sono razzisti" (facilmente confutabile), ma "non sono molto più razzisti del resto della società"

This paragraph by David Graeber makes me think - what if alternating between procrastination and hyperfocus is just how human brains are meant to work i.e. "normal" or dare I say "typical"? What if #ADHD is just some brains' ultimate refusal to conform to capitalism?
