    Well there's a lot of people with underlying emotional issues, fear, or loneliness, or no self esteem and just use addiction as a patch. One guy I know, his parents got him into drugs as a kid. So he doesn't have family to talk to and doesn't have the time/money for therapy, so I guess he uses things like AA to mitigate the symptoms, if he can't fix his underlying cause.

    @0 @arcana @hidden Well drugs, alcoholism, a lot of issues probably. I was just using AA as a catchall even though some programs are considerably worse than others.
