So...what is the difference between a yearning for as much "power over" others as possible, and fascism itself?

In business, corporations relentlessly strive towards ever more market share…w/monopolies being unstated end goals

*This* kind of authoritarian born power is pervasive (after all we come from colonizer cultures).

And it does corrupt.

But the kind of power to simply live your own life in ways you see fit... is so closely akin to "freedom" it's difficult to parse the differences

@StillIRise1963 way back in the 90s I was with a Black coworker, and I can't even remember why, I -think- a key fob had been acting wonky,, but a cop pulls up asking what's going on, and she goes into quiet freak out mode. We are BOTH social worker types. That stuck.

Another thing: I had heard of driving while Black before, but when she told me she'd been pulled over at a particular check point on the way into work 1/2 dozen times in 1 year, and I'd been pulled over once, I finally got it.

Patriarchy controls men by telling them to not develop emotional understanding/sensitivity.

It controls everyone by telling them that emotions are frivolous and unimportant in decision making, while so called "rationality" and force (if necessary) are "The Way".

We already have plenty of evidence that leads to nonsense. (Boiling planet, dead kids, etc)

But evidence of human suffering isn't persuasive on emotionally stunted people.

B/c rationalization -is- what blames victims.

Leaving out important bits of reality almost always (eventually) results in shitty systems.

And "impacts on others" -are- huge bits of reality

Yet ALL our big problems exist as a DIRECT result of ignoring those same -huge- bits of reality.

Ethical considerations REQUIRE *emotionally understanding* the impacts of any given decision/system/product, war, etc….

Bottom line:

Develop your emotions and emotion based understandings of situations… if only so people won't cheer when you die.
