These beautiful pieces, from the Minoan Civilisation, are over 3,700 years old. There are modern mugs not as beautifully decorated or coloured as these.

Why will there be a conflict between those two things?

Dave Dawkins (D. Harrigon) (golgaloth@writing.exchange)'s status on Friday, 02-Aug-2024 15:05:30 JST Dave Dawkins (D. Harrigon) Women fought topless as clothing was thought to be a major disease vector. Getting threads of clothing into a wound might cause an infection, so these women definitely wanted to cut each other.
What strange rules exist in your world that might seem odd today?

Dave Dawkins (D. Harrigon) (golgaloth@writing.exchange)'s status on Wednesday, 05-Jun-2024 21:46:05 JST Dave Dawkins (D. Harrigon) Have you ever had to change anything because you felt it was no longer relevant?
I wrote a story a few years ago and I'm polishing it up now for publication and noticing how a few references have dated soooo quickly.

Should books include a content warning?Books already contain content warnings by how they are categorised, their cover images, blurb, etc. Adult, Young Adult, Children's, Romance, etc.
This is where the author can give the reader a good idea as to what's inside. If you feel the need for anything more specific, you probably haven't written your back cover (or web-page description) properly, or you need to find a better cover image.

Dave Dawkins (D. Harrigon) (golgaloth@writing.exchange)'s status on Wednesday, 03-Apr-2024 19:04:58 JST Dave Dawkins (D. Harrigon) One of the weird things I find with writing Fantasy is that it takes sooooooo long to get anywhere. This is a series of maps showing the time it used to take to travel across America from New York. Days to get anywhere, even with installed roads, in 1800, then down to weeks to reach Chicago.
How would this affect the way you draw your maps?
