@skinnylatte @artcollisions Trains are pretty great! We've taken sleeper cars down the East Coast to FL on two occasions and while we didn't sleep super great (spouse is a longboi as you may recall) it was a lovely journey overall. Once we took that AUTOTRAIN which must be pronounced in all caps.

@skinnylatte @artcollisions Yeah, I like Uniqlo's quality overall and they're good for basics. But as a human gifted with childbearing hips (thanks mom!!! not gonna use 'em!!!) I have some fit issues with their default body shape :/

@artcollisions @skinnylatte YES these are also relevant to my interests!! I’ve poked at capsule wardrobes previously but got hung up for dumb reasons. For someone who sews so much I feel like my wardrobe should be better organized but it’s not :/

And I feel you on thrift stores. I want to love them, I really do, and my brain absolutely cannot handle the overwhelm.

I went to pottery class today and opened by asking several of my classmates if they knew how to use the slab roller upstairs. Nobody did but everyone wanted to, so when the teacher got in I’m like “hey teach, do you know how to use the slab roller upstairs” and she’s like “no” (she’s a visiting artist who only got here a couple months ago so this is not very surprising) “but I’ve used a lot of different ones and I bet we can figure it out.” Me: “do you want to go on a Journey of Discovery?” Everyone: yes. YES. *cue sickos faces* so we all thunder up the stairs periodically shouting JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY and our teacher snags another person who uses the slab roller A Lot and this person gives us a very thorough lesson and demonstration and every so often someone else wanders through and asks what’s happening and we all go JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY at them and now everyone knows how to use the slab roller and honestly I cannot recommend this approach enough as a way to make learning new skills and life generally more exciting.

I am not doing good at time management or indeed any approximation of knowing what day it is, but today was the last day to drop off art for the Somerville Open Studios and I managed to get this done just in time. Despite 1) running out of black thread (howwwww) and 2) goofing up the insignia the first time. Still. She looks good.

I probably did not need to agonize as much as I did over whether it’s the right shade of teal/blue but who am I even if I can’t overthink things.
