If Apple thinks these Apple Intelligence features are ready for actual, real life situations they are delusional. If there is even a chance of something like this happening they should not be releasing this feature.

Hey Apple. Sort your fucking house out. I just got a notification summary that ‘Dad had another stroke’ when he hadn’t (he’s had a stroke before so there was a small reference in the message).
Naturally I shit my pants and tapped on the message straight away so wasn’t able to get a screen grab.

Kinda disappointing to see The Daily Show using generative AI tools to create their backdrops. (At least that’s what this seems like due to the weird anomalies in the build structure.)

OK, so here's the bare minimum I’m doing:
    Deleted Threads account.
Deleted Instagram app. Empty account staying to stop pics of my daughter.
WISH I could delete WhatsApp but I’d be cutting off family.
Upped monthly contribution to trans charity Mermaids.

Do what you can. It's not virtue signalling.

@ismh86 1000% agree with you about the return of Ted Lasso. It won't be awful, but I'm sure the returns won't be worth the investment, no matter whose story they're telling. It felt best in the original format and ensemble. They should have just left it.

      Notre-Dame Reopened To Fire
      from The Onion Staff
PARIS—After five years of painstaking reconstruction, the famed Notre-Dame cathedral reportedly reopened Friday to fire. “As a key symbol of fire identity, we are so thrilled to welcome flames into Notre-Dame once again,” said French President Emmanuel Macron, who credited the 2,000 masons, glassblowers, carpenters, and other craftspeople who worked on the UNESCO World Heritage […]

I didn’t mention this on my watchOS review because I didn’t have the new hardware (and no one knew until the series 10 was out) but as @jsnell perfectly puts it, the lack of development on Apple Watch faces is ‘stupid’.
Apple is killing it in so many other ways on the watch but watch faces have been treading water for years.

I’m so excited to publish my first ever watchOS review on MacStories.

3 months prep, 5 chapters, 11600 words. It’s been the biggest project I’ve ever worked on and I hope you enjoy reading it.

watchOS has some great new features this year and, without any Apple Intelligence features, comes fully formed. Lots of details to dig into:

This is a really great column from Matt. Encapsulates pretty much everything me and many other Apple fans are feeling and questioning right now. https://isfeeling.social/@matt/112969082696713659

In this weeks’s @club MacStories Weekly column for members I detail how I created an iPhone-like Action Button on my Mac. You can have one default task across your whole Mac or go nuts and specify different actions for which ever app is currently active!

    • Mona app

The mastodon client, @MonaApp , is out with a new update today: version 6. It includes some great quality-of-life additions as well as some new features introduced by Mastodon last year. However, the most significant updates are in the area of automation, including support for the iPhone 15 Pro Action Button.

I’ve got all the details here, over on MacStories:

Mona 6 Moves from High Visual Customization to Advanced Automation
      from Jonathan Reed
Mona, the Mastodon client for iOS, iPadOS, and Mac from Junyu Kuang, is out today with a significant version 6 update. Mona is my choice for using Mastodon primarily due to what John referred to in his review as its ‘epic level of customization.’ Everything from how the taskbar at the bottom of the screen
