Did you know it's not actually a crime NOT to provide alt text? True Story. But receiving hostile or sarcastic Karens in your replies seems to be rising, and it really fecking shouldn't be because it's putting people off using AltText altogether and driving people away from the Fediverse.

@jeffowski@mastodon.world @rtp@unfufadoo.net I've actively started pushing back against #AltTextMafia. I take great pleasure from providing Alt Texts but it really has crossed a line from simple positivity for a great cause into an almost fascist need to police behaviour and force or manipulate compliance. And yes, sometimes I don't post an image if I haven't got time because that's easier than dealing with the hostility some people, like CyberCrone below, think is justified.

The My Little Pony Crossovers, yes they did it twice, have some genuinely amazing moments in them. As does the TF vs Terminator series.
