This photo doesn't do it justice, will try to upload a better one later, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT.
THAT WAS PROFOUNDLY UNREAL. Like something out of a SciFi movie. There was this bright red light on the left edge. Possibly lensing through a lunar crater, but not sure.
This is not correct. arctan(2.17756240) == 1.1402940
What's up? Well, if you store your results as JSON strings truncated to 3 decimal places and localized {"x": "1,775"} and your JSON parser isn't locale aware... well, what is arctan(1775)? 🤦♀️
Sometimes I look at someone else's linkedin or whatever, and I'll see them spend the mid 90s in college. and I'll get a little angry, and kinda sad. Anger-sadness? Sounds confusing...
I'm saying I regret that I missed out on that. I don't regret my life, but I regret that missing piece,
Me: Hello, bank. I would like to update my address. Here is my address in Portugal. I am so glad you have a drop-down prompt explicitly asking for country. You have clearly planned for this.
Bank: Fuck off with your non-ASCII.
Me: Um... okay. I'll transliterate those values, I guess.
Bank: Fuck off with the commas too.
Me: But, those are common in US addresses too. Fine.
Bank: Great. I've updated your address for country code PO.
Me: That's... not the code for Portugal. That's Poland.
God damn. There just aren't any programmers left anymore, are there? iOS is just a worthless steaming dookie. Who knew the year of linux on the desktop would come, not from Linux getting polished, but from Microsoft and Apple both dragging themselves down into the shit.
Looking around for old photos of me (because my life is the sort of place where strangers have been known to take photos of me and post them online), and discovered a few things:
1/ I used to smile more. 2/ I used to be skinnier just like... as a normal thing, not a surprise diet. 3/ I used to give a shit about my appearance in general.
Hard to be sure if the "Sara going down hill" event was turning 30, or if it was moving from the public sector to the private sector, but I don't like it.
Fuck. Realized why I'm on edge today. It's Jan 19, 2026.
30 years ago today my world ended in my second dissociative break. The first was after the assault. This one was... related, but it was worse, and it ended with being a homeless, insulin-dependent diabetic queer teenage girl with no health insurance living from couch to car for months and burning out on simultaneous minimum wage jobs.
This anniversary is the first one since dad's suicide, and I'm just still here. "Fuck you. Make me."
