My wife, a Star Wars fan, had airpods for years she called "Now that's what I call pod racing", and when she got new headphones a few months ago, I suggested the name "Jar Jar Beats", which she loved immediately.
She got me new headphones for xmas, and being a Star Trek person myself, I wanted something equally catchy. She suggested "Strange New Beats", which I'll admit is dope, but I'm willing to take suggestions to reach that next level.
Just bought this same glucose meter for the third time. Not because it breaks, all prior versions (probably) still work. The gorram phone keeps changing. Version 1 used the 3.5mm audio jack, Version 2 was Lightning. Now I'm finally on USB-C like a civilized person. It's a really nice little thing to keep in my travel bag for emergencies.
@goatsarah I don't know if "Alf" (TV 1986-1990) made it into your zeitgeist, but the titular character is a masculine identifying alien who eats cats and... well, this...
So I watch the debates, i live in the US where a felon stand 50/50 odds of being elected to the most powerful office in the world, and....
I know what my next DnD character is going to be.
Male Toll Bard. My father was a Warlock who convinced his patron to imbue me with the power to automatically win 40% of all Charisma rolls, but I'm categorically unable to tell the truth.
@goatsarah My people, well... some of them, like to sing, "The South Shall Rise Again". I imagine yours hum a similar refrain about the glory days of Empire.
Anyone have experience with BigFinish? They do audio dramas in the Doctor Who universe, often with the actual actors doing voice work. Kinda wanna give it a go, but at $30 for what seems to be a single episode, that seems pricey AF. I get people deserve to be paid for their work, but how low would their volume have to be to require that scale? Best case scenario, I like what they produce, and now I'm forking out >thousands< just to get at a fraction of their catalog.
@pymander """Of the roughly 1 billion RSA signatures, about one in a million exposed the private key of the host."""
Still a real danger, but that much is at least a little reassuring.
As for mitigation.... change your hostkey to ECDSA or similar? Granted, that's just as disruptive, but it's disruptive in a way that's communicable and plannable.
@goatsarah Given how they were told of by the AUTHOR of the power delivery portion of the spec because of what they did to the 4, you'd think they'd have made *some* effort on the 5.
