@Antiqueight There have been a couple of "wait, you're putting what with what?!" recipes this year, that were quickly marked as "never make this again", but most have been tasty. No repeats (so far!) of previous years' "Yeah, we listed X as an ingredient, but at no stage in the instructions will we ever mention it again!" Mostly it's just poorly timed or badly organised instructions, like putting water on to boil or heating an oven way too early, or chopping up meat before doing veg prep.
It's great to see @BBCNewsUK and other BBC sites on mastodon, but I'm not sure whoever set up the automated posts actually gets it. The post content is the news headline (as you'd expect), a link to the relevant article on the BBC site (also as you'd expect) and "Original tweet" with a link to... well, the tweet they're presumably feeding off.
If you post the results of your Wordle or Wordle-like game to Mastodon, then for anyone using a screen-reader, it will be read out as: "black large square, black large square, black large square, large yellow square, black large square" for the first line, and then may continue: "large green square, black large square, large green square, large yellow square, large green square" for line 2.
@stavvers Amazon are always at this. "You bought this one specific, very niche thing that will last for years? Here, you should buy one of these other ones!"
Welcome to all the new (and returned) #Mastodaoine
It's not twitter! There is no algorithm, nothing gets pushed at you, there are no ads. Follow lots of people. Follow hashtags!
The default app isn't great. Tusky for Android is! There are iPhone apps, too.
If using desktop, go to Settings and use Advanced mode - it's just like Tweetdeck!
Speaking of no ads: mastodon.ie relies on donations! If possible, you can contribute to the running costs of the instance at https://opencollective.com/mastodonie
@padraig Ales? If you like the fruitiness of a cider, then you may enjoy 'tropical' New England IPA style beers - grapefruit, mango, citrus, etc., flavours achieved just using hop varieties.
