if you are solely here for the purpose of defending open-source at all costs when it is also subject to the same mistakes as proprietary software (and it does happens! more often than you think!), could you please not? this is not a war campus between whose dick is the best.

i don’t endorse nor detest neither sides cited here (especially the latter, as i didn’t got a true opportunity to try it properly just yet) as a piece of Software, as it can vary significantly from the company that beholds such products.

if you have your own preferences, and you don’t have a cohesive counter-argument to preferring such over simply “i’m better and you are a mere peasant!”…this is very infantile. kindly, get better. though i doubt that you are even going to listen to most of this begin with, as it’s how the internet is.

here’s a silly reminder that VMWare Workstation still uses fixed serial keys because they laid off a majority of who made that software good starting on version 12 onwards and had never actually cared since then to hire people to implement a decent offline-from-online activation protocol (or any sort of drm really) - which is based but at the same time clearly shows on how they basically don’t care about their own products (workstation did not recieved any major functionality or optimization updates for a long while)
