It's really crazy just how much better #Linux is now than #windows.

A function of Linux getting a lot more user-friendly, and #microsoft...well not sure what they're trying to do, but loading their products with unwanted features and other crap.

Who would have guessed that the first head of government from the past decade who would be arrested for #humanrights #crimes wouldn't be #Putin, #Trump, #Netanyahu #MinAung #Myanmar or (one can dream) #Xi, but #Duterte #Philippines!

Taiwan needs to embrace Japanese #toilets and rules against hotel rooms without windows.

Japan needs to embrace having cheap delicious #vegetarian food everywhere.

#Nagoya has 4(!) #Indonesian restaurants within walking distance from each other in the downtown area (and looks like several more within a few stations). Went to one and the owner (from Banyuwangi) asked if I was from #Malaysia 😅

I'll have to come to Nagoya more often for Indonesian food.

I keep hearing from #Mongols #Turks and now #Uyghurs living in #Japan that #Japanese is relatively easy for them to learn, as the grammar and structure is similar to their languages. That can't be a coincidence, seems like there is a likely common linguistic heritage, no?

Yet, linguists claim they are unrelated languages. Why the contradiction? Is it #Japanese nationalism? Or #western academic elitism?

So are people actually quitting #Meta #Facebook #Instagram this time, or are just complaining about it but still refusing to accept and personal responsibility to allowing #Zuckerberg to attain so much power?

I quit temporarily back in 2012, & permanently after the #Rohingya genocide was linked to hate speech spread via #FB. Cause, you know, lives matter more than your ability to "keep up with X"

@seanbala But will it? The massive flooding far inland due to a freak Hurricane #Helene in North Carolina didn't seem to have much of an impact, despite clear links to climate change. Nor the Texas grid crisis from a few years ago.

Grew up partly in Kansas myself so certainly understand the challenge in red America.
