What is the name of the file format commonly used by tools for a ".*rc" version file? E.g. .nvmrc?

Context: I'd like to find or write a Prettier plugin for it, but need to know what to name this thing.

Was there effort at making a tool to turn TypeScript's source code into a native speed language such as Go or Rust?

Context: writing a post about type-checked linting and Rust-based linters. Ezno and stc are a different approach (re-implementation) with maintenance ..challenges.

@u24 @rauschma it's explained in the article 😛 but tldr: frequent majors would lose the meaning of semver & mislead devs; infrequent majors would bottle up changes and result in less user testing; the external API surface actually does roughly follow semver
