@futurebird Computer History is straight-up relevant to my computer-touching job regularly, in part because we've barely advanced computers in 50 or so years, and in part because knowing the history of a system helps you make educated guesses about it's present.
@tchambers I’ve heard of this but I’ve been worried about what it means for small/single user servers: who decides what goes on the denylist? Who decides what gets taken off the denylist? Presumably larger servers will have an easier time getting off than smaller servers, so aren’t we just recreating the incentives that have shaped how email is today (i.e. three or four big players get to interoperate and choose not to interoperate with many smaller services)
@evan think 404 media deserves a shoutout here, they're very active and I frequently find them on the trending tab (not to mention it is one of the more editorially friendly publications https://www.404media.co/mastodon-is-the-good-one/)
