โโKnitting is a lifelineโ: young people turn to craft to cast off gloom. A new generation of enthusiasts say they are putting down their phones and picking up needles.โ
Although I donโt count to the new generation, I can totally relate. Nothing is more relaxing to me currently. #knitting#stricken@knitting (Via @Lettermin)
Last repost: the city of Amsterdam has asked renowned graphic designer Karel Martens to come up with a pattern to paint on streets with a 30km/h speed limit so they would visually appear smaller and thus reduce speed.
Fourth to last train of the day, and the nicest one today โ my Interrail pass of summer 23 is coming to an end. On the traditionally crappy route from Basel to Saarbrรผcken, itโs the traditional vermicelli pastry, beer and water from Basel SNCF.
With additional tickets and Deutschlandticket, I have been traveling since 22 August. More trips coming up in the next three weeks but then I think I gotta give the Deuter Trail 24 a bit of rest ๐
This is the action figure I managed to draw this summer. Some random learnings: the continuous pass is much more fun than the flexi. I didnโt like that I constantly weighed up if a trip was worth the travel day. The additional tickets I bought probably added up to the difference to the continuous pass.
Oh hey I have one more learning for you: donโt take the train along the beautiful Cรดte dโAzur from Italy to France through Monaco with your phone roaming on. Checking social media, zack โฌ59,95 ๐ธ
(Of course take that train, itโs awesome! Just put your phone on airplane mode or switch off roaming in a generous area around Monaco. Their phone signal is strong! Itโs their thing! My iPhone picked it up all the time on automatic cell provider selection while staying around Cap Martine in France.)
Okay just one learning. Everything else was awesome. Without the extra trips, pass says 15764 km, 113 trains in 11 countries. Will do better again next year.
