@JackMexa4@inthehands You'd think the extremely expensive degrees would buy you some finance wizzardry, when it only buys you access to the other moneyed guys.
@dalias@PattyHanson@jwillia2 The article IS about young jewish people, the poll its talks about excluded non jewish Palestinians, because Israel, so comenting about jews is not off topic? Dont know, but I find that antisemitic is thrown around with such ease, that its loosing meaning. It shouldn't.
@br00t4c Some Liberal cheerleaders still believe in supply side economics and all the neoliberal crap. Please compare Milleis' failed, in need of bailouts economic policies to Méxicos interventionist and sovereign stance by Claudia. No bailout, poverty receding, monetary sovereignty, dollar reserves, buoyant exports, excellent polling. WakeUp/Despierten.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/aug/18/mexico-welfare-policies-amlo Yep. We're doing things differently in Mexico, and it seems to be working. More rights and more money to working people. Universal cash transfers, going afterthe bigger tax avoiders. Electing all judges.... Undoing the neoliberal-austerity that has lead to fascistic governments in the US and Europe. Still, a more progressive tax system is warranted, a massive progress in healthcare and eradicating extreme poverty should follow. But not bad.
@yogthos We are lucky China is making the products we consume, in a more sustainable way. It would be far dirtier if it was the West still manufacturing them.
@gerrymcgovern As of late, Canadians have had to deal with threats to their sovereignty. I would hope that they might become sensitive to the threats to other people's sovereignty they impose from their mining companies abroad.
@jd The Trump presidency having some unexpected and rather positive knock over effects in elections elsewhere. It might also be precipitating a more multipolar world, making BRICS and other alternatives more viable. Sorry for the US population, the dollar, and probably also Mexico bearing the brunt of it.
@ZenHeathen@paninid In Mexico, when buses with more than one door are full and getting to the driver is not possible, you can send over your fare to the driver, announcing where you'll descend as you pass the money forward. The money can change half a dozen hands one way, and back with the change. No money goes missing.(Edited language errors)
@Strandjunker Everyone can also be reminded that many people were sent to Guantanamo Bay without due process. They were mostly Muslims so few people cared, but it created precedent and engendered also cruel soldiers who become cruel politicians like DeSantis and Hegset. This is not really new, only closer to home for many.
@ElSaltoDiario Establecer una cantidad funcional en el closet, y atenerse a ello, tener que sacar algo para comprar algo. Intercambiar con amigos, hacer vendimias de ropa.Aprender a reparar. (Yo lo hago mal). Cortar lo insalvable para trapos de cocina y pañuelos. Comprar ropa de fibras naturales y cuero, se degradan y no se queda 1000 años contaminando.
