BurgersMcSlopshot (burgersmcslopshot@hachyderm.io)'s status on Thursday, 09-May-2024 07:01:17 JST BurgersMcSlopshot @thomasfuchs I have too many computer projects that I should get to. If I come across one locally, I won't pass it up.
In addition to the nostolgia there's also a bit of regret in not understanding what I had until it was gone: an Apple IIgs Woz with a memory expansion card, matching drives, a modem, and ImageWriter II printer.
For me, that IIgs will have to live in the past along with my IBM 5150, Mac Classic, and beige G3 that was running Linux made from scrounged parts I found in the trash.

BurgersMcSlopshot (burgersmcslopshot@hachyderm.io)'s status on Monday, 01-Apr-2024 00:11:40 JST BurgersMcSlopshot @thomasfuchs I put this off for the longest time because I wanted the run to be inside the house rather than out and back in. Recently I ran a "temporary" jumper and it was a big change from being on the wireless despite being fairly close to the AP.
The whole thing took maybe an hour and I had put it of for 5 years because of "don't wanna", so I understand that feeling.
I still need to go back and install conduit for the cable, hopefully in a couple of years I might get around to it.

BurgersMcSlopshot (burgersmcslopshot@hachyderm.io)'s status on Friday, 15-Mar-2024 10:04:56 JST BurgersMcSlopshot @thomasfuchs what era of Windows install/vendor bloatware is this? I remember how bad things were in the PC world in terms of time to first use, sometimes to the point where it was easier to start out with a bare Windows install than it was to navigate through a vendor-specific flow.

But that is Windows 3ish so that might be the era of $10,000 color laptops, so like $9,995
