@BartV@blenderartists If it helps, I run two accounts here on Mastodon. One accounts gets more engagement here than it ever did on Twitter. My personal account got about the same amount of traction here as there, until my friends started to leave Twitter in droves. 😁
@BartV @blendernation@botsin.space @blenderartists You can rebuild here! I'd say leaving the followers behind might sting a bit now, but given how bad that site is now, I'm sure many of them are leaving as well.
I've got a laundry list of chores to do and errands to run today. Our shopping list is akin to a scroll at this point.
Before I leave the house, I have to get through all these DMs on Telegram and Discord, plus reblog some stuff on Tumblr. Will I get distracted? Probably!
@whatzaname@BlackAzizAnansi It's not that Twitter or Bluesky aren't racist. Don't be disingenuous. Twitter broke all those moderation tools which is people are finally leaving droves. Bluesky has better moderation tools. When people are blocked, they're even removed from mentions.
If we want to see more people on Mastodon, it has to fix its culture AND provide people with better moderation tools. Also, maybe address some of the reasons *why* people didn't like it here without writing them off.
I've been meaning to ask why Atlus is releasing a Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance demo five months *after* the full game released. Is it to drum up additional support from those on the fence? Riding a wave of support after Metaphor's success?
And like I've said before, every Mr Olympia winner for the past 40 years has been either Black or middle eastern, with 3 exceptions. All 3 of those exceptions are nazi hating "woke" people. The most conservative of them is Schwarzenegger, and people are still mad at him for making fun of Trump, fascists, and racists.
@rob11563@BlackAzizAnansi Not until a large chunk of Mastodon and the Fediverse fixes its anti-black problem. There is more awareness on the issue including people speaking out, but so many people were treated horribly here from the first Twitter migration. People remember that and Mastodon got a reputation.
So I'm not surprised to see many people head there instead of here.
@tabernac I heard it best on a podcast, you scream into the void on social media and sometimes the void screams back.
That said, I'm of the firm belief that one should post about what excites or interests them. Hashtags also helped me immensely here and on Bluesky. Also, posting frequency-- at least once a day, but not too many times per day.
@damagecontrolblog So I'm tasked with playing Comix Zone. I'll try to get in another practice run or two (with save states) before Sunday's stream. I also need a good few hours to kick back with Metaphor. Though I'll also be catching on stuff like DanDaDan, Ranma 1/2, and Invincible.
Riviera: The Promised Land just wasn't a game that grabbed me when I tried it on PSP well over a decade ago. (I still own the UMD.) I hope those who loved the game are happy with this remaster news, though.
@anubis2814 I thought they were ignoring those settings starting today? (Either way, the box is still unchecked for me and I'm in the process of mass deleting 13 years worth of Tweets.)
@tabernac I've been using social media since the days of LiveJournal. I've found moderate success-- a few hundred followers and likes on my stuff every so often. I've just found that talking about what interests me has worked for me, as well as chatting with others when I find what they've said to be interesting. It's been more about chatting with friends or the like-minded rather than chasing clout.
I once had a few posts go viral on the old Twitter, and the feeling was super uncomfortable. 😬
Part 1 of Drew's livestream of Parasite Eve is now on @damagecontrolblog's YouTube channel. After six long years, he revisits one of the games that started our livestreaming kick.
