This is fascinating. Humans don't have to leave earth for long or far before they start to forget what "human" means.

"Every astronaut who spends more than a few months in orbit comes back describing some version of the same disorientation. Rain smells overwhelming. Fabric feels abrasive. Familiar streets feel piloted rather than driven. The Earth their bodies evolved for has become, briefly, a foreign planet their nervous system is re-learning in real time."

      from Space Daily Editorial Team
Scott Kelly and other long-duration ISS crew describe overwhelming smells, painful feet, and a driving sensation that feels remote-controlled after months in microgravity — the nervous system re-learning Earth in real time.

    #ThreeGoodThings this morning.

    1. Snow flurries this morning have stopped my complaining about the clouds. For now.
    2. There are two robins at my feeders, and they are not fighting. Potential mates?
    3. The wind has just turned over a beech leaf in the yard, which has the color of a wood pigeon's breast.

Be still. Notice things. Share them with others. 🙂

@killyourfm Glad you're here too, friend. I like the Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas albums turned up to ear-bleeding volume. With cocoa.

And because I'm in England, its dark at 4:00pm, 48 degrees F, rainy. How's your weather?

@futurebird This is the most entertaining thread I've read this morning. But I do have a question. In the attached photo is a reference to "fungus-growing ants." I wonder if any of those particular species affect mycorrhizal networks either positively or negatively?
