@haydenthorne It is delicious and healthy. If you use just 1 butternut squash and a few apples, it will not take too long to make it.? Happy New Year!

After cooking butternut squash and apples for 1.5 hours, I let it cool for half an hour or so, and then used a blender and a strainer to make it smooth. It took 4.5 hours this time and it is delicious as usual!

I decided to make butternut squash and apple soup. It will take 3-4 hours to make it, but that is nothing compared with the time and efforts required to make traditional Japanese New Year foods called Osechi.

I knew Sylvester has been using this shelter, but I was happy to see him taking a nap there for the first time this morning. I am not sure how comfortable it is to be on straw, but apparently he does not mind it.

One of our nieces drew a lovely portrait of my family today. One of the best Christmas gifts I have ever received.

I just walked 3 shelter dogs and cuddled with this sweet girl, Nilla. Best way to spend an evening after having a long day.

Sylvester has been visiting us everyday for the past few weeks. After he took a nap for a couple of hours tonight, he left to return to his shelter in the garage as he always does. It is interesting that he seems to enjoy spending time with us but that he never sleeps over in our house.

@sayuri_t_h Thank you, Sayuri-san, for sharing your experience! I didn't know about allergy shots. That may be something we will consider if Robert's symptom persists. Sylvester is such a sweet cat so we will do everything we can so we can spend happy and healthy time together. :-)

As Sylvester visits us everyday now, my partner's allergy is getting bad. So, we bought an air purifier. I hope it works!

I just wrote a short blog about a Japanese magazine called Fūzoku kitan (風俗奇譚), which I believe was important for gay men in Japan in the 1960s when there were no gay magazines available to purchase at bookstores.

I missed the bus so decided to skate at the rink right in front of the bus stop. I had so much fun. I've got to get my own pair of skates!

I sense there is a special bonding between my partner and Sylvester. Too bad he is allergic to cats!

Sylvester the Outdoor Cat waited for me to come home tonight again. He is so cute.

I am at the animal shelter now. Because it is raining, Merlin and I are playing in a room with a couch. He loves toys. He is adorable.
