On a separate note. I have been trying to build my own little rituals for myself as I'm realizing just how important those are.
Taking time to celebrate the earth, the change in time and special natural events even if it's just me and my spouse feels... fulfilling in a weird way.
I much prefer worshipping the act of simply living - rather than a deity. It's just little celebrations of life throughout the year - and when you can make your own rules on your own time, the events feel personal.

@RamenCatholic I was (and still kind of am) an angry atheist, but my biggest fear was ending up in another cult just by looking for a place to be. That sounds like a good compromise tho haha

I know religion is important to many, but when you've grown up with it being a form of control it is increasingly difficult to not hate it as a whole concept.

It's frustrating because religion is culture in a lot of ways. It's history, it's community, it's artistic expression, and for some it is a form of therapy. But I really do hate how easy it is for people within a religion to fear change and progression and technology.

It really does weird me out that my boomer parents think therapy is anti-thetical to religion.
Bro got a 'you don't need therapy! You have God!'
Welp, the G man didn't seem to do anything for his anxiety but those SSRIs sure did.

I do wonder how much things will change with an immediate drop in human labour. I know everyone wants to write about about a changing economy and creating fear but I do wonder how much it'll force countries to adjust to a less capitalistic growth model.
When the very thing that makes the world work: human labour, and you suddenly have a lot less of it globally, how does that fundamentally shift how you deal with resources? -

Man, with all the complicated stuff I was told (and not told) about sex - I wonder how much I would have changed if I was told the truth: It's play for adults.

I think of how awful we've moralized and tabooed every inch of sexual behaviour - and how much we've reduced it to 'penis in vagina and pregnant'. None of this is fun. The one thing in your entire body that's built to have a good time - and we as a species went out of our way to make it as miserable as possible.

Even now, a not so small group of people thinks sexual freedom is the downfall of society. That anything good and truely enjoyable (and ultimately selfish for both partners to be satisfied) must require a punishment. It brings the downfall of society.
All because your sex organ can give you a dopamine rush.

@MOULE In my instance, it's pretty quiet honestly. It's nice just following folks I don't get to see here.
I don't seem to run into anyone I don't want to. -
