@breadandcircuses Capitalism will end itself - but a lot of us, I'm afraid, are going to be ended with it. Our entire technological "civilisation" is destined to collapse, & the future global human population will, so I believe, be very, very much smaller than it is now.
@breadandcircuses Given that during the Pliocene Epoch, 3.5 million years ago, atmospheric CO2 was at 425 ppm, as now, global warming was at 3 Celsius, & sea-levels were 20 metres (over 65 feet) higher than at present, with everything else more-or-less the same (the Sun was actually marginally less luminous), but for the absence of cooling aerosols in the Pliocene atmosphere, we are SCREWED!
@aral Your argument is false, in logic. If there is no justification for supporting genocide - & there ISN'T - those who DO support it must still say why they do so. They must justify themselves (or try to do so) - not the genocide.
@incitatus Well, if climate protesting is "terrorism" or "extremism", why not "socialism"? If dear Suella gets her way, it'll soon be illegal to be anything other than a climate-change denying Tory!
https://theconversation.com/how-the-laws-of-war-apply-to-the-conflict-between-israel-and-hamas-215493. This is an answer - by a Professor of Law at the Washington College of Law, American University, Robert K. Goldman - to any & all who maintain that Israel's siege of Gaza is lawful under international law: it ISN'T! It is, in fact, a flagrant breach of it, & constitutes a war crime, as does its indiscriminate bombing of Gaza. The actions of Hamas are also war crimes. I say again: TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT!
