@evan oh just hanging out with some friends. I was a bartender at this place (RIBCO), since closed. It was a great blues/jazz place in Rock Island, IL.
“As we continue to alter our planet’s climate, we must be prepared for unexpected phenomena that challenge our current understanding and demand new ways of thinking. The ground beneath us is shaking, both literally and figuratively. While the scientific community must adapt and pave the way for informed decisions, it’s up to decision-makers to act.”
Today I’ll be working in the gardens. The front yard looks especially wonky because I’ve let it go. I wanted to see how full sun would affect them. A Rose of Sharon tree is going in and a bunch of weeds are coming out! Coffee first.
“In one sense, there are very few women in the world who will have had the precise experience the vice president did last night. But I doubt there are many women who have not felt themselves forced to thread that needle and win by being all the things.” — Anand Giridharadas

“Life is a web of intersections and choices. Your first choice is to recognize an intersection. Your second choice is to be grateful for it.” — Ryan Lilly

Pay attention to the people you allow into your orbit. Your friends, colleagues and everyone in your extended environment have an effect and impact on your mindset and development as a person.
Do a quick audit: …do the people you spend time with encourage you? …love you for who you are? …see your highest vision for yourself? …are they positive and optimistic? …Or do they tear you down? …make fun of you?
Here’s me shucking corn in the early 1970s. My grandma made sure that if you ate meals in our household, you contributed to the process. As a result, I’m a fairly skilled amateur prep cook.
I can still remember the squeak of the coarse, grippy leaves as they were pulled from the ear.
