@s31bz Dude even in the past TWO years it's gotten so much worse. I've been on macOS for two years, used Windows 11 briefly on a new laptop just to check firmware updates and... OH MY GOSH 😭😭😭

Genuinely such a mess.

@s31bz Honestly my next laptop is bound to either come from System76 or Framework because I just have to support the things I believe in more than just with software... hardware matters too!!

I lowkey wish I'd gotten a Dell at least so all my firmware could be done in Linux instead :( ASUS apparently doesn't do that, at least not on my model.

@killyourfm Tooting live from Asahi-Fedora (KDE) and... WOW I do not remember this being so easy...

Install was literally just copy-paste, a few password acknowledgements and simple y/n questions...

Audio works perfectly, WiFi works perfectly, DISPLAY works perfectly and it can even control the brightness of my Samsung ultrawide??? And GPU acceleration means 4K60 in Firefox without even touching the CPU in a meaningful way?

I can't believe this :O

Audio is... BETTER for me than native macOS? Which sounds insane but my Pixel Buds Pro 2 paired in macOS always have a very slight but noticable delay when watching video, yet it's... instant in Asahi. Bluetooth audio... on Linux... on a Mac... better than macOS.

I should resist the urge to install #Asahi + #Fedora on the main Mac in the house...

But I won't. #Linux
