    @Suiseiseki they kind of did with C# CIL, its technically a VM with a virtual instruction set and they even wrote an OS kernel for it

    yesterday night I did not install solaris, turns out I only had the source code for sol 8 x86. but I did find out how to unlock the television STB disks that I wanted to wipe and use for the OS (good quality 320GB hitachis). I wont unlock them now but instead go to the shop to buy spare hard disks. I am also not sure whether to go for Solaris 8 or Solaris 11
