@youronlyone i love ebooks, but I am sentimental about paper books too. Anyways, Barnes and Noble emailed me that they arent supporting the nook anymore and all the .epubs I have are pirated anyways. When I like, buy, a paper book its always this intensely emotional thing where I just must have the relic object of a paperback copy even if I'm just going to give it to a friend or donate it to a library when I finish it. Having the paperback means I decided some book was important.

I got in the habit of buying #books by asking a nearby bookstore to just order them for me and its a good system, like, the place is in walking distance, they love to see my dog, they pay for shipping, they get the book pretty fast and when they call me about my book has arrived it is this whole event to me where I get real excited and go get the leash.

Look, the problem with covid at this point isnt that you will get really sick. Some people do get really sick and have strong immediate symptoms but most people do not at this point, with these variants. The problem with covid is that it will give you long term health issues and make your fucking body tissue swell up in ways that impact your long term cardiovascular and neurological health and you can be all "lol I didnt have any symptoms" today but in a couple of years you have a fucking aneurysm. It isnt like the bubonic plague, its like fucking HIV. I am so fucking tired of this flippant goddamn attitude people have about it.
